Youth Employment

Here at Solar Youth, we are committed to providing youth of all ages with opportunities to take safe risks, become problem solvers, and take on leadership roles.

If you or a loved one are a high school student in New Haven, consider applying for one of our paid youth employment opportunities.

Green Jobs Apprentice

Green Jobs Apprentices learn concrete skills associated with carrying out community improvement projects they have designed, while building skills for general employability, critical problem-solving, communication, and working in groups. Examples of past projects designed and completed by Green Jobs Apprentices include: mural painting, building gardens, and running bike clinics for community members.

Youth Educator Intern

Youth Educator Interns co-lead our Citycology and Steward Team programs in a partnership with our adult staff. This role challenges interns to develop new skills and be positive role models for our younger Stewards. Youth Educator Interns serve as teachers, teaching lessons surrounding environmental education and acting as environmental stewards, making their city a better and more beautiful place. Just as with our Green Job Apprentices, our Interns are taught skills for general employability, critical problem solving, communication, and working in groups.
